Rocha agreed to a cover shoot for this issue of Redlands Magazine to promote an endeavor that Redlands Police Chief Jim Bueermann calls one of the most deeply meaningful projects the department does every year: the Christmas block party.

When Sara Andon was 9, she had a choice — learn how to play the drums or the flute. She picked up a flute and has been playing ever since.
"At first I thought drums would be very cool because of the physicality of them, and
there were very few female percussionists at the time,” she said. “Then I heard the flute again, and there was something in the sound and the expression that truly drew me in. It had such a singing quality."

Still going strong after 86 years, the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival is once again bringing classical music, opera and dance to the Inland Empire this summer.
"It feels so wonderful to be at the Bowl," said program director Marsha Gebara. "There’s something for everyone, from the opening to closing performances."

On March 26, the Redlands Bicycle Classic will celebrate 25 years of success.
The brainchild of former Redlands Mayor Carole Beswick, former City Councilman Dick Larsen and racing aficionado Peter Brandt, the annual competition came to be through hard work, determination and just a little bit of luck.
